The Q&A Archives: Care for a plumeria plant

Question: I have a beautiful plumeria. It's on patio now but would like info on how to plant in yard. Am in west central FL. (Tampa)

Answer: Your plumeria will be happiest in your garden if you plant it where it will get morning sun but shade from hot afternoon sunshine. Try to find such a planting spot and it will reward you with lots of growth and lots of flowers. Dig a hole as deep but slightly wider than the container it is growing in now. Set the rootmass in the planting hole and backfill with the soil you took out of the hole. Tamp it down gently and then water thoroughly to help settle the soil. Water your plumeria on a regular basis and it should thrive. Enjoy!
