You can transplant your orchid anytime it is not flowering. Orchids bloom best when they are potbound so don't transplant unless you are sure the roots are quite crowded. Use the next sized pot and repot with orchid mix which is basically bark chips. The orchid mix will drain quickly which will keep your plant healthy. Simply lay the plant on its side and gently remove it from the old pot, then set the rootmass into the new pot after you've put an inch or two of new orchid potting mix in the bottom. Fill around the sides of the roots with more orchid mix and then water the plant well to help settle the soil. Good luck with your orchid~ |
