The Q&A Archives: black eyed susan

Question: what do i do with my black eyed susans after they have blossemed and are now dry and dead looking---when do i cut them or do i

Answer: You can cut away all the dead plant parts now. Next spring new stems should emerge from the crown of the plant. After cutting down to ground level, place a few inches of mulch material over the crowns of the plants to help protect them over the winter months. Best wishes with your garden.
