The Q&A Archives: Too Much Water

Question: I recently planted new grass in my backyard and it is growing good but lately it has rained for days and days in a row and the grass is laying down and looks thin. Am I going to lose my grass? Will the grass be able to withstand the constant heavy rain? Thanks.

Answer: I hope the grass recovers! Saturated soils can cause real problems with lawns. There's not much you can do about the rainfall so let's hope the grass is able to tolerate the moisture. Once it is more mature it should not look so puny during the rainy season. Good luck with your lawn!
