what does it indecate when the froms turn fron green to a light yellow and have black spots

What you describe can indicate the fronds are aging and should be removed from the palm. Or, it might indicate a need for fertilizer and/or iron. Black spots can be damage from insects or could be a disease. If only the lower fronds are affected, prune them off. If all the fronds are affected you may need to take a sample of the problem to your local cooperative extension office or Master Gardener clinic for help with diagnosis. Hope it isn't anything serious!
