The Q&A Archives: Blooms for Late Spring/Early Fall Wedding

Question: I am planning to get married in the late spring/early fall of next year (98). My fiance would like to have some sunflowers accent the arrangements. Could you tell me what months would be good to get the best blooms? Also if you could let me know what flowers would be in season during that time, that would be helpful. Thanks! John Lansdale, PA

Answer: Ah a spring wedding!! Late spring is June in your area. Tulips, iris, lilies and many perennials are blooming by then. Early fall is September. Sunflowers should be ready by that time along with many members of the aster family. Chrysanthemums and goldenrod are all in bloom.
