What could be causing my pumpkins to suddenly turn wrinkled and fall off the vine? |
Young fruit sometimes rots at the blossom end if the flowers have not been well pollinated. Poor pollination is caused by lack of bees or temperatures that are too hot or too cool. You can hand pollinate the female flowers (the larger ones with the swelling at the base) by using a small child's paintbrush to transfer pollen from the stamen of the male flower to the pistil of the female flower. Good luck. |
