I have large green tomatoes. As they ripen so many are spoiled on the bottom of the tomato. What is causing this.? It seems worse than it ever has been.

Sounds like a classic case of blossom end rot, especially if the spot is dark brown and leathery. This problem is due to a calcium deficiency, often brought on by an uneven water supply. Try to keep the soil evenly moist by using a mulch and watering when needed.
