The Q&A Archives: Planting Gladiolus Bulbs in VA

Question: When do you plant gladiolus bulbs? I would like to plant adiditional glads in my garden and do not remember when I planted the originals. I am a very lazy gardener....never remove my bulbs from the ground! (I have crocus, tulips, lillies, irises, and glads). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jenora Colligan Manassas, VA

Answer: Plant gladiolus is early summer after all danger of frost has passed. In Virginia, that would be in May. If they come back year after year without you removing them from the ground, then great! You're a lucky and lazy gardener.
