What's the best time to transplant an old azalea bush that has been growing up against a white foundation wall in front of my house. It faces southwest so gets many hours of baking sun and heat. It seems healthy and green, but its blooms only last about a week or so because they're torched by the heat!

Early spring is really the best time to transplant an azalea, especially if it is the evergreen type. Frankly though, azalea blooms don't last all that long in shade, either, so you might think carefully about moving one that seems so healthy and happy.
