Mystery Big Red Burrs - Knowledgebase Question

When my sister was in Wisconsin, she saw a bush with big, huge leaves of green and vein lines of red. It is an annual and when it blooms, the flowers are big red burrs. They are a pretty red. It grows about 5 - 6 feet tall. We would like to know the name of this.

I suspect it is one of the wonderfully ornamental castor bean plants (Ricinus communis).
