How do you know when blue hubbard squash are ready to harvest? I have some that already have the silver blue rind and are not increasing in size. Can I harvest them to allow the others to grow more before frost?

If winter squash is harvested too early, it will have a watery taste. It won't keep well, either. Wait until frost kills the vines before harvesting your hubbards. By then they'll be mature and ready to store for winter use.
