Parsely is a biennial. It grows from seed the first summer andlives over winter. It blooms, sets seed and dies the second summer. This plant may self sow, meaning the seeds will sprout and grow new plants in the same spot as the original grew.

Coriander (aka cilantro) is an annual. It grows, sets seed and dies the first season. This plant may self sow also.
