The Q&A Archives: Smut Resistant Corn

Question: I am having a problem with corn smut, and you mention in your questions & answers section that there are varieties that are resisitant to corn smut like "Goldie" and "Blitz". I do not find them in your catalog. Do you carry these varieties?

Answer: You'll have a better chance of avoiding corn smut if you plant mid- to late-season varieties. These can include Seneca and Golden Jubilee, as well as 'dent' corn varieties. They're available from Territorial Seed Company, P. O. Box 157, Cottage Grove, OR 97424-0061. Phone (541) 942-9547.
