The Q&A Archives: What Variety of Habanero?

Question: I have a Habanero pepper plant, and the fruit are a very pale orange and a very light tan color, almost white. Could you tell me what kind this is, and how spicy?

Answer: Habanero peppers top the scale in heat units! There are varieties called 'Scotch Bonnet' that come in various colors, but all with the same degree of heat (150,000 - 350,000 heat units). Your pepper may be the 'Scotch Bonnet Yellow'.
