| This vine needs a good long and hot summer to do its best and it will climb from 15 to 30 feet in one season. It is very popular further south but as you have discovered, it often begins blooming quite late in the season when grown in cooler climates. Some gardeners will start it indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost date in order to accelerate the bloom schedule. Good luck with your vines! |
