Fuchsia plants can be started from seed. Remove the pulp from the seeds, then soak the seeds for 3-4 days. Sow them on top of moistened seed starting mix and press them in with your hand, but don't cover them with additional mix. Fuchsia seeds need warmth and light to germinate. After sowing, cover the pot or tray with plastic wrap to help hold in moisture, then place the tray in a warm location (like on top of the refrigerator), or use seed-starting heating cables. The seeds will germinate in 21-90 days at 70F-75F degrees. After the seeds have sprouted, remove the plastic wrap and place the seedlings under a source of light.
