Potatoes grow best in the cool Northern half of the U. S., so your local nurseries may not carry seed potatoes because they may not grow well in your area. You can try growing potatoes in the fall months rather than during the summer. Here's an excellent source of seed potatoes, ranging from white to yellow to red to purple: Ronniger's Seed Potatoes, P. O. Box 1838, Orting, WA 98360. Good luck with your potato patch!
