The Q&A Archives: Castor Bean Care

Question: What do you do to castor bean plant as far as cutting back or letting die back on its own in my region?

Answer: Castor beans (Ricinus communis) are not cold hardy, so once the plant has sufffered frost damage you will probably want to pull it up and dispose of it just as with any annuals. Do keep in mind that the seeds are considered extremely poisonous.
