Can I sow zinnas seeds outside in spring in zone 5 and have them bloom correctly. Also snapdragons?

You can certainly sow zinnias outside and have them bloom; plant them after the danger of frost into a well prepared planting bed and they should do very well for you. The only possible exception is that they will begin blooming a bit later (perhaps a month) than those started indoors.

Snapdragons can also be seeded outside, however it takes them such a long time to reach blooming size most gardeners prefer to start them well in advance inside to speed things up.
