We had a really bad time with worms on the brussel sprout plants through mid summer and they have taken their toll I'm afraid. Do you know of an organic method of dealing with them?

A good, natural option for caterpillar control is a product containing B.t. (Bacillus thuringiensis). It is sold in numerous brand names including: Dipel, Thuricide, Ortho BioWorm Killer, MVP Caterpillar Killer, and many more.

Follow the label for application instructions. More than one application is usually needed as it breaks down rather quickly in the environment and new caterpillars that hatch a few days after you make an application will not be affected.
