The Q&A Archives: Planting Spinach in St. Louis

Question: I recently purchased Burpee Melody Hybrid Spinach. Planting directions specify early spring. What do you consider early spring for the St. Louis area? Months and dates would be more helpful. Nancy Newcomer St. Louis, MO

Answer: I'd say the beginning of April would be a good time to plant spinach in St. Louis. Of course it depends on the year, so call your Cooperative Extension Service for exact dates this year (314-383-1925)..
