The Q&A Archives: Row Run

Question: I have sometimes seen the term "row run" used to describe plants in catalogs. What does that mean? Are they root cuttings or something? How long does it take before there would be any fruit or flower to it. I wanted to order a hybrid rose and rose rugosa using row runs. Can you tell me what they are and please tell me what to do when I get them? Cherith San Dimas, CA

Answer: I'm sorry but I don't know the term "row run" in conjunction with roses. I have heard of the term used to describe the ultimate vining legth of a vegetable such as squash or pumpkins, but never used to describe roses vining. Do you have additional information about this term?.
