Should I overseed my lawn now, or should I put the seed down in the early spring?

Grass seed will germinate as long as the temperature is above 40F degrees. The seedlings will need 3-4 weeks of mild weather to establish roots before frost arrives. If you still have a month of frost-free weather, go ahead and overseed. If not, wait until early spring.
