Cuphea - Knowledgebase Question

Please identify a cuphea that has a red flower shaped like the cigar plant but at the end of the bloom it looks like the face of a bat and the tip is also black with two little ears sticking up. Hope this description is clear enough. I've been looking for one for years

The plant you're trying to identify is probably Cuphea cyanea. The flowers are crimson and there are two winglike appendages on each. They are not widely cultivated, but seeds might be available from Cyberseeds, P. O. Box 171102, San Antonio TX 78217-1102.
