Celosia, or Cockscomb, is an upright plant that bears unusual flowers in vivid colors. The seeds can be started indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost in your area. Seeds need light and heat to germinate. Sow seeds on top of moistened seed starting mix and just press them into the surface. Place pots or trays in a warm place, or on a propagating mat. Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days at 70F - 75F degrees. After sprouting, move seedlings to a warm, brightly lit location. When planting outdoors, place in full sun to light shade. Plants thrive in ordinary soil.
