My sedum appears to be dying back for the winter. When should I prune the sedum and how much should I cut off? The sedum I have is the large type that grows to be 18-24" tall.

Sedum doesn't generally need cutting back in the fall, but you can remove the flowering stems to keep the plants looking attractive. If yours is nearly 2 feet tall, you're probably growing 'Autumn Joy'. When the flowers begin to fade, cut the stems back to the top of the rest of the foliage on the plant, to make a more uniform mound.
