| Coconut fiber door mats are familiar to most people. If you've ever owned one, you know how long they last, even when exposed to the elements. That's the same kind of material you purchased. It will take a very long time to decompose in the soil, and it won't add much in the way of nutrients, but it's an excellent source of organic material to lighten up heavy soils. The fibers aren't likely to absorb as much water as other organic matter might. All in all, it's probably a good investment. An added bonus is that you're helping recycle some organic material. |
