When is the ideal time to plant an Althea in north Florida?

Althea is usually sold as a container grown plant. You can plant container grown althea any time of year in north Florida. Perhaps the best time is fall or spring as this allows the plant time to establish its root system in the new location before the onset of hot weather.

Plants which are being dug and relocated should be planted in fall for the above mentioned reason.
