Ho Lan Dow is the Chinese name for Snow Peas, the flat podded garden veggie often used in stir fry dishes. They can be grown as a vegetable crop in your area, but in my opinion would not be the best choice for a winter cover, or soil building green manure crop.

You may want to choose a cereal rye, vetch or a clover instead. These would serve the purpose better and can often be purchase locally in bulk quantity to seed a larger area.
