Many factors could be involved when a crop failure affects so many different species of plants. I think the best place to begin is with a soil test. The cause is most likely a nutrient deficiency or excess, or even a pH problem with the soil. Your County Extension Office (6900 Florida Street; Punta Gorda, FL 33950-5799; (941) 639-6255; FAX (941) 639-6719) can assist you with the way to take and submit a soil sample. When the results are in, they can help interpret the results and prescribe the best way to remedy the problem.
