Banyan Tree - Knowledgebase Question

In what regions would one be able to grow a Banyan tree. I saw one at Cypress Gardens in Florida and was curious abot growing one in North Carolina.

The Banyan tree is Ficus indica, also known as the East Indian Fig tree. It grows best in USDA zone 10, where the average winter low temperatures are 30F - 40F degrees. Your region may be a little too cold for the Banyan, but if you have a protected place, you might give it a try.
