Slugs do not generally feed on blades of grass, so they're not necessarily bad for the lawn. If the grass is very high, they may hide in the lawn, though, and in order to keep the slug population under control, you'll want to eliminate any hiding or breeding places. Just keeping the lawn mowed regularly should help in that respect. Sowbugs feed on decaying organic matter so they're not usually a problem in lawns either.
