What are the best varieties of strawberries for my region? When should I plant? |
The best time to plant your berries is in mid- to late March. They need regular, even moisture and the leaves will need protection from the summer's burning sun. You can try these varieties: 'Olympus', 'Ozark Beauty', 'Sequoia', 'Shuksan' or 'Tristar'. Burpee regularly offers 'Ozark Beauty' and 'Tristar'. I didn't find varieties listed specifically for your region, but you can find out which work best by contacting Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners (702)222-3130. Best of luck! |
