I am trying to start from seed carnations, delphinium, snapdragons, coreopsis and others. When these seedlings germinate they fold over and die. How can I keep them alive? Please help! |
Your plants are probably succumbing to a fungus such as the one that causes the disease known as "damping off". To remedy the problem, start with a fresh, disease free growing mix. Garden soil and used mixes are notorious for harboring such diseases. You can treat seedling with a fungicide to combat fungal problems, but it is much better to avoid the problems by using a clean (sterile) mix. Thanks for the question! |
