Locally there is a bright, spring blooming plant known as creeping flox. It seems to come in varying shades of pinks and purples, not to mention reds. It spreads and clings close to the ground and drapes itself over garden walls. It seems to enjoy full sun. What is it?

It sounds like creeping phlox, also called moss pink and technically named Phlox subulata.
