In the spring, I would like to plant a grape vine and a dwarf apple tree. What would be a good place to go find information on growing them organically, such as a book, besides my extension agency? Can you recommend any varieties for my small, barely zone 6 garden.

An excellent resource is "The Orchard Almanac - A Spraysaver Guide" by Stephen Page and Joseph Smillie, Published by Spraysaver Publications, Rockport, Maine 04856.
It may be out of print and difficult to locate, but is worth a try.

A great online resource is the ATTRA Website. They have helpful publications and additional references. Check them out at:

Regarding varieties, the following Ohio Extension Web Pages on grapes and apples (respectively) would be worth reviewing:

Thanks for the question and good luck with your fruit planting!
