The Q&A Archives: Roses Didn't Bloom

Question: In the spring of 98, I planted four climbing rose bushes. They grew like weeds over six foot high, but we didn't get one bloom. Help, I'm very disappointed.

Answer: It's a bit difficult to answer your question without knowing which variety of rose you planted. However, it is possible that the variety you planted blooms only on "old" wood, meaning wood that is already a year old. If this is the case, you should have a great display this spring.
