My radishes grew almost all to tops. They were under row covers as protection against root maggots. The garden pH was 7.5. Fertilizer used in our organic garden was aged horse manure and ground compost. Other vegetables produced excellent yields. What would you suggest?

When root crops like raddishes grow lots of tops and little root, it is usually due to one of three factors: low light, high fertility (especially nitrogen) or overcrowding.

Since your other veggies did well, I would tend to eliminate low light intensity and focus the blame on either too much nitrogen or crowded plants.

Thanks for the question!
