[ Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Owen Staples') | Posted on June 22, 2013 ]

What a neat Semp!!!

What does Very Hardy mean on the label?

[ Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Ann-Christy') | Posted on June 11, 2013 ]

This is one of two pictures which will show color change from year to year after a mild winter. New transplant from OR

[ Rollers (Sempervivum globiferum subsp. preissianum 'from Belianske Tatras') | Posted on June 7, 2013 ]

The tiny rollers almost get lost in the planting material.

[ Rollers (Sempervivum globiferum subsp. arenarium) | Posted on June 2, 2013 ]

This was such a tiny little plant I could not resist it.

[ Rollers (Sempervivum globiferum subsp. globiferum 'Hunsheiner Globe') | Posted on May 28, 2013 ]

Just love the way this plants sends up its offshoots. Already at least three babies trying to establish themselves.

[ Begonia Sparkle™ White Blush | Posted on May 24, 2013 ]

Love to use this in my containers. First year I have seen a Begonia quite like this one.

[ Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Red Cobweb') | Posted on May 24, 2013 ]

I could not find online or in our DB the cultivar" Xandra" but did find "Red Cobweb"

On the label it said Sempervivum arachnoldeum Xandra Hens and Chicks - Red Cobweb

[ Rollers (Sempervivum globiferum subsp. globiferum) | Posted on May 24, 2013 ]

Per Nature Gate: Rolling hen-and-chicks’ natural habitat ends not far from Finland’s south-eastern border, so it is no surprise that the plant thrives here.

Thrives on rocks where soil is impossibly thin.

[ Mealy Cup Sage (Salvia farinacea Sallyfun™ Snow White) | Posted on September 18, 2012 ]

An interesting contrast to the purples and blues of other salvias

[ Sweet Potato Vine (Ipomoea batatas Illusion® Garnet Lace) | Posted on September 18, 2012 ]

This is a dramatic foliage plant with wonderful colors of deep purple and green. It appeared to be a ground cover.

[ Sweet Potato Vine (Ipomoea batatas Sweet Caroline Bewitched) | Posted on September 18, 2012 ]

Wonderful foliage color on this plant.

[ Hybrid Cardinal Flower (Lobelia x speciosa Fan® Scarlet) | Posted on September 18, 2012 ]

This brilliant red lobelia was blooming next to some salvia and really made a statement

[ New Guinea Impatiens (Impatiens hawkeri Super Sonic® Magenta) | Posted on September 18, 2012 ]

There were lots of impatiens here, but this one caught my eye with its deep blue-red blooms and bright green leaves.

[ Coleus (Solenostemon scutellarioides 'Versa Green Halo') | Posted on September 5, 2012 ]

This plant is one of my favorite acquisitions this year. I love the way it has different leaf colors, some almost golden and others a true cream with green trim. Some of the leaves have just a little green on the edges. I have ordered some seed for next year. It is not a big plant but very lovely.

[ Rock Rose (Helianthemum nummularium) | Posted on August 30, 2012 ]

This took a while to identify, but it is such a lovely plant that it was worth the effort.
Have on order.

[ Desert Bird of Paradise (Erythrostemon gilliesii) | Posted on August 29, 2012 ]

What an interesting plant: the bloom, the leaves, and the fruit.

[ Floribunda Rose (Rosa 'Cinco de Mayo') | Posted on August 29, 2012 ]

Of the hundreds of roses blooming today, this one made me catch my breath.

The color variations on the plant were wonderful to behold.

[ Watch Chain Plant (Crassula muscosa) | Posted on July 31, 2012 ]

Not cold hardy. Suitable for houseplant

[ Coral Bells (Heuchera Dolce® Peach Melba) | Posted on July 22, 2012 ]

Love the variation in the colors and the red stems

[ Little Pickles (Crassothonna capensis) | Posted on June 17, 2012 ]

Tiny blue green pickle like leaves give this plant its name.

It has tiny yellow daisy flowers that lend their cheer over a very long season – spring to fall. In the ground, a little extra drainage is advised, as too much of a wet winter leaves the plant in a sorry, sulking state. Suggested for the rock garden or in pots,
Leaves grow no more than 2" tall, flowers no more than 4". Spread is usually around 8"
