[ Pepino Dulce (Solanum muricatum) | Posted on December 28, 2018 ]

I was able to sprout young plants from the fresh seeds relatively easily. I planted them immediately into fine soil with peat moss in it and since they are so small, I barely covered them with less than 1/8 inch of soil. Then I kept the soil moist and put them in the direct sun of a window. They came up as easily as a tomato would and in about the same time frame. The largest one, seen in the photo I am posting, is now outdoors and about two feet tall in a pot sheltered from freezing weather. I will post again when it blooms in the spring/summer.

[ Shrub Balsam (Impatiens sodenii) | Posted on July 15, 2017 ]

This impatiens is very hardy. Even if it does freeze, it will come back up and grow just as tall within the year. It is easy to propagate from big cuttings planted deep. It can be grown in containers, but gets so big that a very large container would be necessary.
