[ Royal Paint Brush (Haemanthus albiflos) | Posted on December 10, 2012 ]

In early December these bulbs throw out the most striking flower heads.
Pure white pincussions each with a glob of golden pollen.

Super easy to grow.
I have a clump in a 7-gallon pot that just gets better each year.

Easy to divide as well.
I usually have offsets to share.

[ Spotted Kalanchoe (Kalanchoe marmorata) | Posted on December 10, 2012 ]

The blooms of this stocky succulent are worth waiting for.
And they come (at least here in Southern Calif) in the early Winter (late December to early January).

[ Rose (Rosa 'Adam's Smile') | Posted on November 17, 2012 ]

This roses blooms in both small clusters and huge trusses of the deepest pink.
There is a white edge and reverse that really set off the color.
A very fine mini.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Pink Poodle') | Posted on November 17, 2012 ]

A definite "cool season" rose -- for me at least.
It's too new a plant to rate its growth and health.
The blooms are wonderful now in our cool and sunny November days.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Roller Coaster') | Posted on November 10, 2012 ]

A free spirited rose that sends out great, arching canes studded with the most flamboyant striped and streaked blooms.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Playgold') | Posted on November 10, 2012 ]

Playgold is a stunning mini -- with blooms that shimmer in brilliant golden orange.
Loves the sun and blooms over a very long season.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Bees Knees') | Posted on November 5, 2012 ]

A splendid and vibrant miniature rose that grows quite big.

[ Rose (Rosa 'The Impressionist') | Posted on November 5, 2012 ]

The Impressionist has been growing on a long rustic fence along our driveway for about eight years.
It stretches about twelve feet wide now.

It blooms primarily in spring for us -- but what a show it puts on.
The blooms attract attention from our neighbors every year.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Abracadabra') | Posted on November 5, 2012 ]

I grow over a hundred roses -- mostly minis.
There is only one Hybrid Tea in my garden: ABRACADABRA (Warriner).

This rose has the most magical coloring of any rose I know.
Shades of yellow, peach, lavender, amber and mauve -- all in one bloom.

And it's fragrant, too.

Plus it grows well on its own roots -- and roots fairly easily as well.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Lyda Rose') | Posted on November 5, 2012 ]

A super healthy, arching rose that grows with sheer exuberance.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Anne Harkness') | Posted on November 5, 2012 ]

I have grown this rose for years.
My original plant was a a cutting taken from Kim Rupert's old garden in Santa Clarita.
The plant is now over five feet tall and wide.

The blooms come in big clusters that continue from Spring well into Fall here in our area.

The colors are a glowing buff-apricot that holds up well even in the heat of summer.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Lavender Crystal') | Posted on October 28, 2012 ]

Lavender Crystal is a striking miniature rose that takes some extra care to perform its best.
It really puts on its best show here in Southern California in Fall with our long stretch of warm sunny days.
