'Charles Grimaldi' is a wonderfully fragrant, easy to grow Brugmansia. It is said to be a cross of
B. 'Dr. Seuss X B. 'Frosty Pink'.

[ Devil's Trumpet (Datura metel 'Black Currant Swirl') | Posted on December 6, 2011 ]

This plant is treated as an annual here in my zone 7. I grew it in full sun and it was happy,.

The seedpods are golf ball size, round and "bumpy", not sharp spines as other daturas. When ripe, the seedpod will fall apart at the slightest touch. To collect the seeds, I loosely covered the seedpods with fine netting (such as bridal netting from a fabric store) and tied to the stem with pipe cleaner. Allow the seeds to completely dry before storing.

[ Elephant Ear (Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Nigra') | Posted on December 6, 2011 ]

This is a stunning and easy to grow Alocasia. Here in zone 7, with our hot summers, it did great growing in filtered shade. It is suppose to be winter hardy to zone 8, so rather than take a chance pushing the zone, I grew it in a pot and over-wintered indoors.
