[ Lily (Lilium 'Shirley') | Posted on March 18, 2013 ]

A Minnesota introduction, hybridized by Ruth and Hugh Cocker

[ Lily (Lilium amabile) | Posted on August 12, 2012 ]

Typical for the species (but not mandatory) are the two dark lines that sometimes form a "V" on each petal.

[ Lily (Lilium auratum var. auratum) | Posted on August 12, 2012 ]

This is the variety typical of the species in the wild. There are no dark spots, and the flowers can have varying amounts of yellow from one plant to another. The absence of leaves on the lower (up to one-third) portion of the stem is normal.
