[ Lily (Lilium 'Pink Pearl') | Posted on October 21, 2011 ]

Frequently produces multiple petals and occasionally a 'button' in the center, in cooler weather.

A wonderful example of the work done by Lisa Hunt (aka Buggy Crazy) "Some years the whole gamut of pearled, doubled and single blooms will appear on the same flowering stem, a surprise with each bloom! "

[ Lily (Lilium 'Harbor Star') | Posted on October 17, 2011 ]

Did not perform well for me, might do well in areas with cooler summers.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Lemon Lime') | Posted on October 9, 2011 ]

One of the many beautiful lilies from Lisa Hunt. Unregistered.

[ Dark Opal Basil (Ocimum basilicum 'Purpurascens') | Posted on September 29, 2011 ]

To collect seeds, pick flower stem when dried. Hold the stem over a container or paper plate and roll the flower between your fingers. Look for the oval seeds that are about the size of coarse-ground pepper.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Silk Road') | Posted on September 29, 2011 ]

Very fragrant, though it may be too strong for some if cut for indoor use.

[ Sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Strawberry Blonde') | Posted on September 29, 2011 ]

If you intend to collect seeds, harvest the seedhead before the birds and squirrels discover them.

[ Sweetgrass (Anthoxanthum nitens) | Posted on September 25, 2011 ]

Traditionally used by Native Americans for purification prior to rituals. Frequently braided before drying. May be used for making baskets.

To retain its green color, dry this grass away from direct sunlight.

[ Pumpkins on a Stick (Solanum aethiopicum) | Posted on September 21, 2011 ]

Support may be needed as the stems become very heavy with fruit. Be careful of the thorns ~ very sharp!

Not especially good for culinary use, but makes a statement where dark foliage is wanted.
