If you either grow this hybrid, or know of someone who grows it, then take the time to inspect the golden rim of the standards close up. What's fascinating is how this region is actually comprised of small specks of both yellow and purple pigmentation, which when seen from a distance gives the remarkable illusion of a solid golden edge. Isn't Mother Nature wonderfully, amazingly clever?

Moderators:
I see the listing states this is a late season bloomer, and imagine that's how it was registered, but I would encourage you to edit that description since in my garden this hybrid was/ is blooming very, very early as it is almost out of season! Thrill Ride, Sutton's hybrid is also in bloom, so it's not a solo aberration, but apparently this rebloomer is very capable of being an early bloomer (this is also not the only instance it's been right up there as one of the first blooming Tb's. Perhaps the fact it reblooms in certain gardens in the fall caused confusion?).

I am an avid fan of Adoree and her lineage, and this wonderful hybrid from Paul is perhaps the best of the ones I've been lucky enough to grow and observe. Besides the gorgeous and uniquely similar color pattern of Barry's Valley of Dreams, what makes this hybrid special is the vigorous/ prolific growth compared to Adoree, and the tall, strong bloom spikes that tower up in the garden and with beaming pride announces its magnificence when it first begins to bloom. This quickly moved up into my top ten (and anyone who's been growing Irises for five years or longer knows that this is a pretty special group and that, depending on the day, the positions are all interchangeable).
