[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Two to Tango') | Posted on July 27, 2023 ]

A great miniature daylily. The description says bloom size is 3" but in my garden the blooms are 2" and always double. The foliage is also smaller and is in scale with the blooms. If you like mini's you should definitely have this in your garden.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Alabama Jubilee') | Posted on July 27, 2023 ]

One of my favorite daylilies. In my zone 5 garden it forms a large plant with lots of blooms over at least a 6 week period (from end of June to end of July). I especially love how the flowers stand well above the foliage so that you can really appreciate the glowing color. Rust has not been an issue for me.

[ Double Daffodil (Narcissus 'Ice King') | Posted on April 7, 2020 ]

Unlike many double daffodils, Ice King generally remains upright and does not splay because of weight of bloom. It also has a slight fragrance. Good naturalizer, highly recommend.

[ Coral Bells (Heuchera villosa 'Citronelle') | Posted on October 9, 2017 ]

This cultivar has been a consistent performer in my zone 5 garden. Beautiful, bright yellow-green foliage color all season long. I find it is best sited in part shade with protection from afternoon sun.

[ Coralbells (Heuchera sanguinea 'Snowfire') | Posted on February 16, 2016 ]

Although this plant looks very similar to 'Snow Angel,' it has proved to be much hardier in my Chicago area, zone 5a, garden. I tried growing Snow Angel twice and both times it did not make it through the winter. In contrast, 'Snow Fire' has so far survived more than 5 years in the ground. It will be interesting to see whether it comes back this spring (2016) We've had wildly fluctuating temperatures with little or no snow cover. Not a good combination for the shallow-rooted heuchera.

[ Spotted Geranium (Geranium maculatum 'Espresso') | Posted on January 31, 2016 ]

If your main purpose in planting Espresso is for the dark colored leaves you will be disappointed. They green up by mid-summer. A better choice might be Geranium 'Purple Heron,' which keeps chocolate leaves all season and comes true from seed.
