Metallic leaves in all shades of silver, pink, and fuchsia. Beautiful

[ Begonia 'Curly Fireflush' | Posted on June 8, 2013 ]

Leaves and stems covered with deep red 'hairs' and interesting curl to the leaf

[ African Asparagus Fern (Asparagus asparagoides) | Posted on June 8, 2013 ]

Great accent 'spiller' and 'filler' when grouped with other plants.

[ Villous Fig (Ficus villosa) | Posted on June 3, 2013 ]

Rare little ficus that shingles. New foliage is a dark rusty-burgundy, older foliage dark green, all covered with hair.

[ Clematis 'Ramona' | Posted on April 18, 2013 ]

Fantastic bloomer!

[ Black Gold Philodendron (Philodendron melanochrysum) | Posted on April 18, 2013 ]

Beautiful, large velvety leaves

[ Bird-Catcher Tree (Ceodes umbellata) | Posted on April 3, 2013 ]

Makes a great shrub in frost-free SoCal, but really shines when on a shady patio or garden area where you can enjoy the foliage 'up close and personal.' The variegation really brightens a shady area.

[ Bromeliad (Aechmea lueddemanniana 'Alvarez') | Posted on March 30, 2013 ]

Striking leaf colors. Who needs a flower when the leaves look like this?

[ Monstera siltepecana | Posted on March 17, 2013 ]

Fast grower

[ Miniature Oakleaf Fig (Ficus pumila 'Quercifolia') | Posted on March 12, 2013 ]

Good plant for terrarium/vivarium

[ Spade-Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hastatum) | Posted on March 12, 2013 ]

Attractive, sturdy, and fast-growing upright philo variety.

[ Lance Leaf Fig (Ficus punctata 'Panama') | Posted on March 12, 2013 ]

Great little plant for terrarium/vivarium
Mature leaves get MUCH larger! (similar to the growth habit of F. repens)

[ New Guinea Impatiens (Impatiens hawkeri SonicĀ® Sweet Purple) | Posted on March 11, 2013 ]

Dark foliage contrasts nicely with the flowers.

[ Ficus vaccinioides | Posted on March 11, 2013 ]

Small creeper for shade

[ New Zealand Flax (Phormium tenax 'Sundowner') | Posted on March 11, 2013 ]

Leaf colors are enhanced in sunlight

[ Shingle Vine (Marcgravia rectiflora) | Posted on March 11, 2013 ]

Nice shingle plant

[ Pink Powderpuff (Calliandra tergemina var. emarginata) | Posted on March 11, 2013 ]

This plant flowers all season long in north TX in full sun until about 3 oclock in the afternoon (I keep mine in a greenhouse Dec 1st thru March 15th). Puts on a constant display of flowers, no matter how hot it gets. Even if you treat it like an annual in zone 8a, it should be given consideration because many plants stop flowering when it really heats up here. I'm going to try this in the ground next winter and see whether it will overwinter.

[ Bougainvillea 'San Miguel' | Posted on March 11, 2013 ]

This flowers all spring, summer and fall in north TX (it's in a greenhouse Dec1st thru March 15th). Almost never without blooms, unlike many other varieties I've grown here that go in and out of bloom during the season.

[ Travelers Palm (Ravenala madagascariensis) | Posted on March 11, 2013 ]

Removed blue fuzz from seed, then soaked them for 24 hours before planting. 4-8 weeks to germinate. Slow growing the first year, then it really gets going!

[ Madagascar Jasmine (Marsdenia floribunda 'Variegata') | Posted on March 10, 2013 ]

Beautiful foliage along with the sweet fragrance of the flowers.
