[ Coleus (Coleus scutellarioides Campfire) | Posted on April 25, 2019 ]

The colors in this one are the most vivid of the rust/orange coleus I have grown.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Jerry Steele') | Posted on June 24, 2018 ]

This one has been slow to take off for me in zone 5, but blooms open very nicely.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Apricot Fudge') | Posted on June 9, 2018 ]

This one took 2 years to bloom for the first time in my garden. The form is very different and reminds me of a rose.

[ Stonecrop (Hylotelephium telephium subsp. telephium 'Purple Emperor') | Posted on August 23, 2017 ]

This tall Stonecrop does best with some support added early in the season that will allow the plant to grow through it.

[ Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Waldaline') | Posted on May 27, 2017 ]

After having no offsets for a few years, Waldaline is making up for lost time.

[ Clematis Sugar-Sweet Blue™ | Posted on May 7, 2017 ]

This small flowered Clematis starts to bloom very early in the season when the plant is still rather short.

[ Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Waldaline') | Posted on April 19, 2017 ]

Slow to multiply for me.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Casper') | Posted on June 13, 2016 ]

I have Casper planted in full sun. The blooms seemed to not last very long during a hot spell. It might do better planted in part shade.

[ Snake Plant (Dracaena ballyi) | Posted on December 3, 2015 ]

This plant is named after Peter Bally, who collected the original plant in 1963 at Kivuko Hill in SE Kenya. It sends up above-ground stolons that grow to 6' from the mother plant and then root themselves.

[ Blanket Flower (Gaillardia 'Sunset Cutie') | Posted on September 1, 2015 ]

Sunset Cutie has bloomed all summer for me in a container. Still going strong on Sept. 1. Plant to move it to the ground before frost and hope it makes it through the winter. Still only about 9" tall.

[ Coleus (Coleus scutellarioides 'Songbird') | Posted on August 15, 2014 ]

I have noticed that there seem to be two different coleus listed as Songbird. The one I grow is like the one here: http://www.malmborgsinc.com/in... and also shown in a number of other photos. The other one has a green edge and is sold by Rosy Dawn coleus. Not sure which is the real Songbird or if both have the name.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Iroquois Chief') | Posted on July 16, 2013 ]

This tall daylily carries its blooms high on the scape, making it a great plant for near the back of the border.

[ Bee Balm (Monarda didyma 'Pardon My Pink') | Posted on July 5, 2013 ]

This compact little monarda blooms when it is about 9" tall.

[ Bee Balm (Monarda didyma 'Pardon My Purple') | Posted on July 1, 2013 ]

Short compact monarda with large flowers.

[ Prostrate Speedwell (Veronica prostrata 'Nestor') | Posted on June 24, 2013 ]

Blooms mid-June in zone 5. Trim back after first bloom period and it will rebloom lightly. Spreads to about 15-18".

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Spinning Wheel') | Posted on May 28, 2013 ]

Strong growing and unique.

[ Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum 'Ice Star') | Posted on May 25, 2013 ]

Ice Star blooms for a long time and is easy to divide every few years. It does not reseed itself in my garden,

[ Coral Bells (Heuchera 'Sugar Plum') | Posted on May 25, 2013 ]

Pink blooms are held nicely above the foliage.

[ Heucherella (XHeucherella 'Brass Lantern') | Posted on May 21, 2013 ]

The white flowers contrast nicely with the bronze foliage.

[ European Columbine (Aquilegia vulgaris 'Dorothy Rose') | Posted on May 21, 2013 ]

Small downward facing blooms are a delicate pink.
