[ Rose (Rosa hugonis) | Posted on May 11, 2012 ]

The bloom of the pale yellow flowers is brief but the tiny ferny foliage and red stems are beautiful all summer long. Then the foliage turns gorgeous colors in the fall.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Banshee') | Posted on November 15, 2011 ]

I'm going to assume this database entry is for the Banshee described by Leonie Bell in the 1977 American Rose Annual, and not the rose now referred to as High Country Banshee, but which many still call just Banshee. I grow both and they are very different roses.

[ Fox Grape (Vitis 'Himrod') | Posted on October 19, 2011 ]

Himrod is a white seedless grape that is quite sweet for eating, but has much more taste than those found in the grocery store. It also makes a decent light white wine. My vine was rooted from a cutitng so it is own root and is quite hardy here in zone 5. It is very prolific - one year we made 3 gallons of wine from the produce.

[ Rose (Rosa 'Pink Leda') | Posted on October 9, 2011 ]

Pink Leda often sports back to the original Leda.

[ Clematis Viennetta™ | Posted on October 7, 2011 ]

This clematis has a reputation for being tender, yet it has survived well since 2007 in my garden despite being exposed to -20 F most winters.
